About this course

A good executive assistant does far more than type letters. They protect the executive's time, prepare their meetings, know where every document is, screen calls without offending anyone and produce in one hour the dashboard the board is waiting for. It is a position of trust, sought after by SMEs, subsidiaries of large groups, NGOs, embassies and public administrations. This course is the senior level of the track. Over ten modules, you take on the professional stance of the role (duties, confidentiality, relationship with the executive), you manage an executive calendar and its priorities, you handle incoming and outgoing mail and administrative correspondence, you organize meetings, board meetings and shareholders' meetings with notices and minutes, you build a filing plan and a records retention policy aligned with OHADA practice and Senegal's personal data protection law, you produce Excel reporting and management presentations, you organize business trips, events and expenses, you master delicate spoken and written communication, and finally you write the procedures manual for an executive office. Every module ends with a portfolio project assessed against a grading rubric. You leave with a complete professional file, ready to show in a job interview or to put into practice from your first day in the role. **Place in the Office and productivity track**: level 5, the most advanced, after *Complete Office suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint at work* (level 4). It completes the track.

Who it is for: Secretaries and assistants aiming for an executive support role, office employees changing careers, recent graduates in office administration, management or communication, assistants already in post who want to structure their practice, and entrepreneurs who hire and train their own assistant, in Dakar, Abidjan, Bamako, Cotonou or in the diaspora.

Questions about this course

Do I need to be an assistant already to take this course?

No, but you need to be comfortable with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook at the level of course 4 in the track. People already in the role will mainly find methods, templates and a procedures manual ready to apply.

How much time should I plan for?

About 40 hours: just over 13 hours of lessons, the exercises for each lesson and ten portfolio projects, including a five-hour final project. At five hours a week, allow two months.

Are the practices covered specific to Senegal?

The foundation is shared across French-speaking Africa (OHADA business law, French administrative practice). Senegal-specific points (Law 2008-12 on personal data and the CDP, the national data protection authority, the NINEA business tax ID, administrative formalities) are flagged, and the examples also cover Abidjan, Bamako and Cotonou.

Are the projects graded?

Yes. Each project has a rubric scored out of 100 and receives written feedback. The certificate is awarded once all ten projects and the quizzes are validated.

Will the course help me find a job?

It gives you a portfolio of ten concrete pieces and interview preparation in module 1. It does not guarantee a job: hiring also depends on your experience and the local market.

Can I take the full track at a reduced price?

Yes. The five courses of the Office and productivity track are offered together at 350,000 FCFA (about $585) instead of 450,000, and any course you have already purchased is deducted.

How do I pay?

Via Wave or Orange Money. After enrolling you receive a pro forma invoice by email with the number to pay. Send the proof on WhatsApp: your access is activated within 24 business hours.
