FAQ
Is my SME subject to the CSRD in 2026? After the 2025 Omnibus, the threshold was raised to more than 1,000 employees and the timeline pushed back two years. A 250-employee SME is therefore not obliged, but its customers can require VSME data, the ceiling of what they can legitimately ask for.
How long does it take to set up collection? Count 8 to 12 weeks for connectors and the dashboard, and 4 to 8 weeks in parallel for the carbon footprint. A first EcoVadis campaign can be served from month three.
Do we need an off-the-shelf ESG software? Not necessarily. A licence costs €3,000 to €12,000 a year; a custom dashboard connected to your tools costs more upfront but nothing in licences, which becomes cheaper after 2 to 3 years.
Is scope 3 reliable with spend-based ratios? It is an estimate within about 30%, accepted for a first exercise. You then refine it on your top 20 suppliers, who often account for 80% of purchasing emissions.
