White-Label SaaS Platform Cost in Singapore (2026)

The verdict in three sentences

Turning an existing SaaS into a white-label platform for 30 resellers costs SGD 60,000 to 135,000 (roughly USD 45,000 to 100,000) of extra architecture work, split between data isolation, per-reseller branding (domain, logo, colours, emails), automated custom domains and SSL certificates and two-tier billing. The project runs 3 to 6 months, and hosting comes to USD 15 to 60 per month per instance depending on isolation level. The model works if a 20 to 40 % reseller margin still leaves enough contribution after infrastructure and second-line support.

Architecture choices that set the budget

The founder of a Singapore vendor selling across Southeast Asia must first decide on isolation. That choice weighs more on cost than the interface itself.

Isolation modelPrincipleHosting per reseller (USD/month)Extra build cost (SGD)
Shared database, tenant IDOne database, every row tagged15 to 2560,000 to 80,000
Schema per resellerOne database, one schema per tenant25 to 4075,000 to 105,000
Dedicated databaseIsolated database per reseller40 to 6095,000 to 135,000
Fully dedicated instanceSeparate app and database150 to 400Quoted by volume
HybridShared by default, dedicated for large resellers15 to 40090,000 to 135,000

For 30 resellers mostly serving SMEs, schema per reseller is usually the sweet spot. Dedicated databases make sense when resellers in Indonesia or Vietnam require local data residency or independent restores, a growing requirement under regional data laws.

What resellers must be able to customise

Customisable elementComplexityIndicative budget (SGD)

Two-tier billing is the hardest part: you bill the reseller a wholesale price, the reseller bills end clients at its own rates, sometimes in SGD, MYR, IDR or THB. Either the platform runs both layers through a payment tool supporting connected accounts, or you bill only the first layer and give resellers usage exports.

Setting reseller margins without hurting yourself

If your list price is USD 50 per user per month, a 30 % reseller margin means a USD 35 wholesale price. Subtract shared hosting (USD 2 to 3 per user), second-line support (USD 3 to 4) and payment fees: about USD 27 to 30 of contribution remains. Lower than direct sales, but with no customer acquisition cost, which often reaches USD 400 to 900 per B2B SME account in Southeast Asia. Two contract points protect that margin. First, a minimum monthly commitment per reseller, for example USD 500, so that inactive partners still cover their schema and monitoring. Second, a clear support boundary: the reseller handles first-line questions in its own language and time zone, and you only take escalated technical tickets, with a target of fewer than 2 tickets per 100 users per month. Vendors that skip these clauses often find that 5 resellers generate 60 % of their support load. See our custom web applications page.

Mini case study

Wei Ling, founder of a construction project software vendor in Singapore, signs 30 resellers across the region, each bringing 12 clients of 5 users in year one: 1,800 users. At USD 35 wholesale, vendor revenue reaches USD 63,000 a month. Direct costs: 30 schemas at USD 35, or USD 1,050, plus USD 4 per user for compute and support, or USD 7,200. Monthly contribution: USD 54,750. Against USD 75,000 of extra architecture, payback is under two months at cruising speed, or 6 to 8 months allowing for a gradual reseller ramp-up.

FAQ

Do we have to rewrite our SaaS?

Rarely. In about 70 % of cases, a tenant layer and theming engine are added to existing code. A rewrite is only needed if client data is mixed without a tenant identifier.

How do we handle 30 domains and SSL certificates?

The reseller points a subdomain at the platform, and a certificate is issued and renewed every 90 days automatically. Marginal cost is close to zero after the initial build.

Who is accountable under the PDPA?

The end client is usually the organisation, with reseller and vendor acting as data intermediaries in a chain. Two-tier processing agreements are essential, plus clear hosting regions.

How do we stop one reseller degrading the platform?

Per-tenant quotas on storage and API calls, plus per-reseller monitoring. A tenant exceeding 3 times its quota triggers an alert.

How soon can the first resellers go live?

A 3-reseller pilot is realistic after 3 months, full rollout to 30 after 5 to 6 months.
