Websites

The verdict in three sentences

For a notary public in Dublin, a local agency is the better choice when you want face-to-face workshops, office photography handled for you and a supplier who also runs your search ads, at a 2026 ballpark of 8 000 to 35 000 EUR for the site. A remote studio like Kolonell fits a practice that wants clear service pages, a document checklist per service and online booking at a fixed price of 2 700 EUR, 4 500 EUR or 8 200 EUR, with native English copy and a project manager on Irish hours. What matters most is that the site answers the question every visitor has before calling: what do I need to bring, and how fast can it be notarised and apostilled?

How do a Dublin agency, a freelancer and Kolonell compare?

These ranges are prudent. They draw on public rate cards of Dublin agencies serving professional firms, minimum project sizes on Clutch.co profiles, hourly rates published by Irish studios (often 75 to 130 EUR per hour) and developer rates visible on Upwork. They are orders of magnitude, not quotes.

To be frank: a good Dublin freelancer at 2 000 EUR costs less than our Starter plan. Kolonell's difference at 2 700 EUR is a project manager, copy written for people who have never met a notary, a fixed price in writing and the handover of every login. The team is based in Senegal (GMT): same clock as Dublin in winter, one hour behind during Irish Summer Time. Payment by bank transfer or Wise, 50 % at kickoff, 50 % at delivery. Details on our international website offer.

When should a Dublin notary stay with a local agency?

  • You want to meet in person at every stage and decide around a table, near the Four Courts or in your own office.
  • You need photography and video of the office and the notary for trust pages; Kolonell does not shoot on site.
  • Your site is part of a wider solicitors' practice with conveyancing, probate and litigation pages, a larger content plan and a monthly marketing retainer.
  • You want a custom client portal where corporate clients upload documents and track files: that is an application, and a local team that builds and hosts it can make sense. With Kolonell it is quoted on request.

When does a remote studio fit a notarial practice?

A notary's site is usually compact and practical: a visitor arrives with a document for use abroad and wants to know what to bring, how much it may cost and when they can come. That fits a fixed scope well. For reference, Kolonell built the site of TR Signing Group (trsigninggroup.com), a notary and apostille service in New Jersey, United States: bilingual FR/EN site, quote requests with per-file checks, appointment scheduling, live chat and a full back office.

What does a Dublin notarial site need to explain?

Dublin's notarial demand is international by nature. Multinationals and their HR teams need company documents and powers of attorney for foreign registries, residents from across the EU and beyond need declarations and certified copies for their home countries, and Irish buyers of property in Spain, France or Portugal need powers of attorney that will be accepted there. Each of these visitors has a different checklist.

  • Who you are. Notaries public in Ireland are appointed through a formal process in which the Faculty of Notaries Public in Ireland plays a central role, and most are practising solicitors. State your appointment and your practice clearly, without overstating your role.
  • The apostille step. In Ireland, apostilles are issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs. Explain the sequence (notarisation, then apostille or legalisation by an embassy where the destination country requires it) and say who handles each step; do not promise a delay that depends on a third party.
  • No legal advice on the site. A notarial site explains the procedure and the documents to bring; it does not tell visitors whether a document is legally valid abroad.
  • Advertising rules. Advertising by solicitors in Ireland is subject to regulations made by the Legal Services Regulatory Authority; check the current rules before publishing fees, comparisons or claims.
  • Personal data. Uploaded passports and company records are personal data under the GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, supervised by the Data Protection Commission. Collect only what you need and set a retention period.
  • Accessibility. The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to certain services; WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 AA is the usual technical reference.

This is not legal advice.

Which questions should you ask before choosing?

  • Can our assistant update fees, checklists and opening hours alone, in under 10 minutes?
  • Where are uploaded documents stored, and for how long?
  • Does the booking tool send reminders, and who pays its subscription?
  • Who owns the domain and the hosting account?
  • Is the copy checked for advertising rules, and by whom?
  • What is the written price of an extra service page or language?

Mini case study

Illustrative example. Aoife M. is a solicitor and notary public with a two-person practice in Dublin 7. Most of her calls are the same question asked again: what to bring for a power of attorney for a property sale in Spain. A Dublin agency quotes 14 000 EUR with an office shoot. She chooses Kolonell Growth at 4 500 EUR, a local photographer for 450 EUR and a booking tool at 15 EUR per month (540 EUR over three years), for 5 490 EUR. If the checklist pages save her 20 minutes a day over 220 working days, that is about 73 hours a year back for billable work.

FAQ

Can clients upload documents before the appointment?

Yes, from Premium at 8 200 EUR, through a secure quote request form. A full client portal with accounts and file tracking is a custom application, quoted on request.

Should we publish our fees?

That is your decision and subject to current advertising rules. The Growth plan at 4 500 EUR includes a fees section you can show, hide or edit yourself.

Do you explain the apostille process for every country?

We write the general sequence and, on Premium, guides for your 3 to 5 most frequent destination countries, based on your notes. You validate every page before launch.

Can the site be in French as well?

Yes, a bilingual FR/EN site is available from Premium. Other languages, such as Polish or Portuguese, are supplied by you or quoted separately.

How long does the project take?

Usually 3 to 4 weeks, with a written update every week. Support is included for 3 months after launch, 6 months on Premium.

Let's scope your project. Send us your list of notarial services, the three questions you hear most on the phone and your booking tool, and we reply with a fixed-price plan and a 3 to 4 week timeline. Request your free quote or see the international offer.
