The verdict in three sentences

For a commercial and workplace architecture practice in Eindhoven, the choice depends less on the city than on your clients: Brainport tech companies work in English and judge a portfolio, not a postcode. A remote studio suits that audience well, provided you organise interior photography and its permissions yourself. A local agency keeps the edge when the site must serve Dutch public tenders or frequent workshops in your office.

Six scenarios, six answers

A practice focused on offices, labs and campuses does not face the same questions as a residential architect. These are the cases we see most often:

ScenarioRecommended providerWhy
International tech clients, English-speakingRemote studioNative English copy included, fixed EUR 4,500 on Growth
Dutch public contracts and municipalitiesLocal agencyNative Dutch, local references expected
Partners who want weekly approval workshopsLocal agencyThe studio works by video call
Existing photos, site needed in 4 weeksRemote studioDelivery in 3 to 4 weeks
Projects under a non-disclosure agreementEither, if the CMS handles private pagesPublication control is essential
Site linked to an internal tool run by a local supplierLocal agencyEasier integration on site

On the market side, typical agency quotes and public agency rate pages put a freelancer at EUR 2,000 to 6,000 and an agency at EUR 7,000 to 25,000 for a custom portfolio. A 2026 ballpark, to check against your own quotes.

Time zones are a non-issue: 1 to 2 hours from our team depending on the season, so almost a full shared working day.

When the local agency is clearly better

Let's be frank. If more than half your revenue comes from Dutch public commissions, your site must be flawless in Dutch and cite references local buyers recognise: an agency from the region will do that better. The same goes if your leadership wants to test navigation mock-ups in a physical meeting, or if the site must talk to an intranet maintained by a Dutch supplier.

In other cases, a remote studio offers value that is hard to beat. Our international website offer includes a project manager reachable in your time zone, native English or French copywriting, delivery in 3 to 4 weeks and 3 months of support.

The real cost, year by year

A workplace practice often publishes 6 to 10 projects a year: photography comes back every year, not only at launch.

YearEindhoven agency (ballpark)Remote studio, Growth plan
Year 1: buildEUR 11,000 to 19,000EUR 4,500
Year 1: project photographyEUR 1,500 to 3,000EUR 1,500 to 3,000
Year 1: hosting and maintenance (market)EUR 600 to 1,500EUR 600 to 1,500
Year 2: photography + hostingEUR 2,100 to 4,500EUR 2,100 to 4,500
Year 3: photography + hostingEUR 2,100 to 4,500EUR 2,100 to 4,500
3-year totalEUR 17,300 to 32,500EUR 10,800 to 18,000

An optional Dutch version adds EUR 600 to 1,200 with the studio, on quote. It is often optional for an international tech clientele.

You are :
  • Confidentiality. Many tech clients refuse to have their offices shown before a given date. The CMS must let you prepare a project page, keep it private, then publish it in one click, or anonymise it (sector and floor area instead of the name).
  • Photo permissions. Shooting an occupied interior requires the client's written consent and, if employees are recognisable, theirs too. The photographer's licence must cover the site, press and competition entries.
  • A filterable portfolio by use (offices, labs, cleanrooms, campus), floor area and status.
  • Awards, competitions and a press page.
  • Heavy images under control: AVIF and WebP, lazy loading, an LCP target under 2.5 seconds.
  • A qualifying enquiry form: floor area, number of workstations, move-in date, budget.

Local frame: the architect title is protected in the Netherlands (Wet op de architectentitel) and reserved for people in the register kept by the Bureau Architectenregister; unregistered interior designers on your team need a different job title. The GDPR applies to forms and cookies, supervised by the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. Aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA. This is not legal advice.

QuestionReassuring answer
Who owns the domain and hosting? The practice, from day one
Is the code handed over at the end?Yes, with all access credentials

What does a mid-project change cost?Priced in writing before work starts

Mini case study

*Illustrative example.* Joost Verhoeven is a partner in a 14-person Eindhoven practice designing offices and labs for tech companies. His clients work in English.

  • Quote from a local agency: EUR 16,000 for the build.
  • Remote studio: Growth EUR 4,500 + optional Dutch version EUR 900 = EUR 5,400.
  • Difference: EUR 10,600, about 96 billable hours at EUR 110.

He goes with the studio, keeps an Eindhoven photographer under direct contract and adds a clause: no project page goes live without the client's written approval.

FAQ

Can a remote studio handle confidential projects? Yes, if the CMS supports private pages and scheduled publishing. Plan 1 to 2 hours of team training to avoid an accidental launch.

Do I need a Dutch site in Eindhoven? Not necessarily: for an international tech clientele, English is often enough. A Dutch version costs a ballpark EUR 600 to 1,200, on quote.

What does an interior photo shoot cost? Count EUR 800 to 1,500 per project as a 2026 ballpark, web usage rights included, depending on the photographer and floor area.

How long does a new site take? 3 to 4 weeks with a remote studio if content is ready, versus the 8 to 12 weeks agencies often quote for custom work.

How do I compare two quotes? Bring them to the same scope: number of pages, languages, photography, 3 months of support. A free quote itemised line by line makes the comparison quick.

Let's scope your project. A workplace portfolio in English or French with confidential project pages, EUR 4,500 to 8,200 before photography, live in 3 to 4 weeks. See the international offer or request a free quote: detailed reply within 48 hours.
