Cegid ERP integration with a customer portal: cost (2026)

The verdict in three sentences

Connecting Cegid XRP to a customer portal costs between 8,000 and 25,000 EUR excl. VAT for the integration layer alone, on top of the portal itself. For 800 customers checking invoices, orders and balances, a scheduled export is often enough to start, and middleware becomes relevant as soon as the portal must write into the ERP. The expected gain is measured in avoided calls: up to 2 FTEs of sales admin reassigned to higher-value work.

Three integration methods compared

Cegid XRP (Flex, Sprint or Ultimate depending on the edition) offers REST APIs and data exchange services, but their coverage depends on version and configuration. Before choosing, check with your Cegid integrator which entities are actually exposed.

2026 order of magnitude, excluding the portal itself (15,000 to 40,000 EUR excl. VAT for a complete customer portal) and any API licence charged by the publisher or integrator.

Which sync frequency for which data

Not all data needs real time. A good architecture syncs each entity at the pace that matters to the customer, which reduces ERP load and cost.

DataRecommended frequencyTypical volume (800 customers)Advised method

Access security: what to require

The portal exposes financial data, so security is not negotiable. Require per-customer isolation enforced server side, email login with two-factor authentication for high-balance accounts, and a read-only Cegid technical account for exports. The portal must never query the ERP with full-rights credentials.

On GDPR, a processing register and access logs kept for 12 months are enough for an SME. A 3 to 5 day penetration test (3,000 to 6,000 EUR excl. VAT) before launch remains the best insurance.

Mini case study

Isabelle, CFO of a winemaking supplies distributor in Bordeaux, has 800 active customers and 4 sales admin staff handling about 1,200 calls a month on invoices and balances. She chooses a 28,000 EUR portal and an export plus API integration at 14,000 EUR excl. VAT.

  • Total investment: 42,000 EUR excl. VAT.
  • Calls avoided: 60%, about 720 per month.
  • At 10 minutes per call including follow-up, 120 hours freed per month, about 0.8 FTE.
  • With online order entry (phase 2), another 1.2 FTE, so 2 FTEs in total.
  • Loaded cost of a sales admin FTE: 42,000 EUR per year. Annual gain: 84,000 EUR minus 6,000 EUR of maintenance.

Payback in about 7 months once phase 2 is live, with faster collection of overdue invoices as a bonus.

FAQ

Does Cegid offer a ready-made customer portal?

Some editions include customer modules, but customisation is limited. A custom portal makes sense when you want your own branding, specific business rules or online invoice payment.

How long until the portal is live?

Plan 10 to 14 weeks in total: 2 weeks of Cegid data audit, 6 to 8 weeks of development, 2 to 4 weeks of acceptance with a pilot group of 20 customers.

Does the integration slow Cegid down?

Not if it is well designed. Exports run at night or every 4 hours, and a portal-side cache absorbs 90% of lookups without hitting the ERP.

What happens during a Cegid upgrade?

Budget 2 to 5 days of regression testing, or 1,500 to 4,000 EUR excl. VAT per major upgrade. Middleware reduces this risk by isolating the portal from ERP changes.

Can we add online invoice payment?

Yes, via a provider such as Stripe or a bank PSP, at 1.5 to 2.5% per card transaction or fixed fees for SEPA direct debit. Automatic reconciliation in Cegid adds about 3,000 to 5,000 EUR excl. VAT.
