B2B net-30 invoice payment on e-commerce: cost in Amsterdam in 2026

E-commerce

The verdict in three sentences

For an Amsterdam wholesaler of diving and watersports equipment, 60 % of trade buyers who abandon their basket do so because they cannot pay on a net-30 invoice. A B2B buy now, pay later service with full default protection such as Mondu or Billie costs 2 to 4 % per order in 2026, plus EUR 4,000 to 10,000 of integration, and lifts trade conversion by around 20 %. The alternative, running credit in-house with trade credit insurance at 0.2 to 0.5 % of turnover, is cheaper but leaves collections and cash flow on your side.

Two models for offering net-30 payment

Dive centres, boat rental firms, ship chandlers and sports retailers are used to paying at 30 or 45 days. On a store that only takes cards, they call the sales rep or move to a competitor. There are two approaches.

CriteriaB2B BNPL (Mondu, Billie, Hokodo, Two)In-house credit + credit insurance (Allianz Trade, Atradius, Coface)

Profitability depends mainly on gross margin. At 30 % margin, paying 3 % fees is acceptable if the order would not have happened otherwise. On products at 12 % margin, credit insurance quickly makes more sense.

What integration costs on your store

Most Dutch wholesalers run on Shopify Plus, Magento, WooCommerce or Lightspeed. The work goes beyond installing a plugin: you need a trade journey (account creation with KvK number and EU VAT ID), net prices per customer price list and invoice sync with the ERP.

Item2026 range excl. VAT (estimate)Timeline
BNPL plugin (Shopify, WooCommerce, Lightspeed)EUR 4,000 to 6,0002 to 3 weeks
API integration on Magento or custom stackEUR 6,000 to 10,0003 to 5 weeks
Trade account journey (KvK, VAT ID)EUR 2,500 to 5,0001 to 2 weeks
Customer price lists and volume discountsEUR 3,000 to 7,0002 to 3 weeks
Invoice and reconciliation sync (Exact, AFAS, Odoo)EUR 3,500 to 8,0002 to 4 weeks
E-invoicing via PeppolEUR 2,000 to 4,500Through an access point

The Netherlands already relies heavily on Peppol for public sector invoicing, and EU ViDA rules push B2B e-invoicing further. Use the project to connect your store to a Peppol access point rather than redoing it later.

Mini case study

Daan runs a diving and watersports equipment wholesaler in Amsterdam. His B2B store generates EUR 900,000 a year, with an average trade order of EUR 1,400. He estimates he loses 260 trade baskets a year because invoice payment is not offered.

He integrates Mondu at 3 % average fees for EUR 8,000 of integration. Trade conversion rises by 20 %, or EUR 180,000 of extra turnover in year one. At 32 % gross margin, that is EUR 57,600 of margin. Provider fees on that extra turnover come to EUR 5,400, plus 3 % on existing orders that switch to net-30 (about EUR 300,000, so EUR 9,000). Estimated net gain: 57,600 - 5,400 - 9,000 - 8,000 = EUR 35,200 in year one. On top of that, Daan gets paid at D+2 instead of an average of 38 days.

FAQ

How much does net-30 invoice payment cost on a B2B store in 2026?

Expect 2 to 4 % per order with a guaranteed B2B BNPL provider in the Netherlands, plus EUR 4,000 to 10,000 of integration. Credit insurance costs 0.2 to 0.5 % of insured turnover but you handle collections.

Am I paid immediately with B2B BNPL?

Yes, the provider pays you 1 to 3 days after shipping, while your customer pays at 30, 60 or 90 days. Defaults are 100 % covered once the order is approved.

Which customers are accepted?

Registered companies with an active KvK or EU registration, assessed in under 2 seconds at checkout. Foundations and associations, such as some dive clubs, may be declined, so keep bank transfer on receipt as an option.

Can we set limits per customer?

Yes, typical limits range from EUR 5,000 to 50,000 of outstanding balance depending on credit score. For higher exposure, credit insurance or a direct agreement is better.

Does this work with Peppol e-invoicing?

Yes, as long as invoices are routed through a Peppol access point. Budget EUR 2,000 to 4,500 to align the flow between the store, the ERP and the access point.

Let's scope your project. Tell us your platform, average trade order and ERP: we will price a net-30 payment integration between EUR 4,000 and 18,000 depending on scope, live in 3 to 6 weeks. Detailed quote within 48 h. WhatsApp +221 77 596 93 33.
